We build precision instruments for the people who build real things.
Devil's Workshop is an independent studio crafting professional engineering software — computed to code, shaped by real industrial work, and made by the engineers who actually use it.
Most engineering software is written by people who have never stood at a pipe rack. Ours isn't.
Engines built faithfully from the source standards — ASME, ISA, TEMA, B36.10 — not curve-fit approximations. The maths is the product.
A number on a screen isn't the job. Our tools produce the datasheet — the deliverable you can hand to a checker and file.
Built by a practicing plant engineer, refined against actual project work. If it doesn't earn its place on the job, it doesn't ship.
A pocket suite of seven code-faithful calculators for piping & mechanical engineers — pipe sizing, friction loss, supports, ASME VIII vessels, pump sizing, control valves and shell-&-tube exchangers. Each tool computes to standard and exports a signed-style PDF & CSV datasheet, generated on the device.
// More instruments in the workshop. Watch this space.
Devil's Workshop is a one-person studio run by Upamanyu Chatterjee, a practicing piping & plant engineer. The software comes out of the same work it serves — pressure-vessel design, line sizing, the daily reality of running a plant department.
That's the whole idea: tools built by someone on the inside, who knows exactly what a result has to look like before it's any use to anyone.
